Demolition

Plant overview

Our excavators range from 1.7T – 80T and come with a range of attachments that make demolition fast and effective. We use the enormous strength of these diggers to carefully take apart the structure of a building, factory or structure. In conjunction with our excavators, we have a variety of bulk haulage vehicles like tipper trucks, ready to remove demolition waste from the site and recycle any materials we can. Overall, we endeavour to make our demolition services simple, effective and most importantly, safe.

Asbestos

Asbestos is a flexible fibrous material that is resistant to heat, corrosion and electricity. It was used in a variety of building products, mostly for cladding and insulation, and is likely to be present in buildings constructed or renovated in the 1940s to 1980s.

It wasn’t until the early 2000s that the full extent of how dangerous asbestos can be if exposed to it.

Asbestos exposure can damage the body’s cells and lead to an aggressive form of cancer known as mesothelioma. Therefore, it is crucial that a licenced practitioner remove any asbestos.

How we safely remove Asbestos

As asbestos has a soft and fluffy consistency, it must be handled carefully to avoid spreading its fibres. The removal process will heavily depend on where the asbestos is located.

Firstly, the material needs to be thoroughly wet down with water – this step must be repeated throughout the removal process.

Then the asbestos must be carefully removed by removing bolts and fixings of the structure it is located in.

The asbestos must then be placed in either an asbestos-waste container or double-wrapped in plastic sheeting and secured with duct tape.

All asbestos waste must be appropriately labelled. The process of removing asbestos can be long and complicated, so it’s best to call on the experts.
